Cycling Mecca

Portland, OR is the home of North American cycling. The lifestyle, sport and culture defined by cycling sweeps through the city. The bicycle is an enduring icon of Portland. So too is the Swift, a bird that flies thousands of miles in its lifetime. During the summer months the swifts congregate in Portland’s skies, as many as 30,000 at a time. These dense flocks billow upward and then descend in sweeping arcs. It is a summer ritual much like that of cyclists, climbing and descending the neighbouring mountains. Thus Portland was the influence for Rapha’s special edition Swift jersey.

Using a vintage jersey style, the black flocked silhouettes of swifts in flight on black makes for a beautifully understated and distinctive design. The cut is similar to that of other Rapha jerseys, using side panels to create a slim fit, and cut longer at the back. It has a classic ribbed neck and sleeve cuffs with a metal zipper to give it an old-school feel. Its look and deluxe finish mean it can be worn more casually off the bike as well as on the road.

The jersey is made from a merino wool and polyester blend, so is ultra comfortable and high-wicking. The jersey carries 3 large, simply configured cargo pockets with reinforced seams. Interior pink highlighting and an embroidered Rapha logo finish this distinctive piece.
